Is the park open during COVID-19?
Yes, the park is fully open (restrooms included) until further notice. Please refer to LA County’s COVID-19 Orders for guidance on masking and social distancing. For more information on the novel coronavirus, please visit https://coronavirus.lacity.org/ and the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention website.
Can I get more detailed directions to the park?
Los Angeles State Historic Park is located at 1245 N Spring St, Los Angeles, CA 90012, directly adjacent to Chinatown and the Metro Gold Line. The park is located just 1 mile away from Los Angeles Union Station, making it accessible from several routes.
If you are traveling northbound or southbound on the 101F, exit Alameda Street, turn right at the off ramp and Alameda turns into North Spring Street. The park will be on your left.
If you are traveling on the I-5 Freeway, exit Broadway, go west and stay in the left lane. When Broadway splits in two directions, take North Spring Street to the left.
Can I have an electronic visitor map of the park?
Definitely! Please visit our online Visitor Map to view various points of interest throughout the park.
Is there a fee to enter the park?
There is no fee to enter LASHP, but there is a fee ($2 per hour or $8 per day) for parking vehicles in our official parking lots. Special parking rates are as follows: seniors: $7 flat, disabled parking: $4 flat (or free with disabled person placard).
There is also free street parking near the park, but pay close attention to no-parking & anti-gridlock zones.
Is parking at LA State Historic Park free or paid?
Parking is paid. There is a fee ($2 per hour or $8 per day) for parking vehicles in our official parking lots. Special parking rates are as follows: seniors: $7 flat, disabled parking: $4 flat (or free with disabled person placard).
There is also free street parking near the park, but pay close attention to no-parking & anti-gridlock zones.
Are picnic reservations required at the park?
No, picnicking locations are first come first served. Please keep in mind that certain areas in the park may be reserved for special events or community programming.
Are there restrooms available at the park?
Yes, there are multiple restrooms located throughout the park.
Is Wi-Fi available at the park?
Yes, you may access our free, public Wi-Fi network “ParksWIFI” at the park.
Is there food available at the park?
Yes, food is available for purchase at Cargo Snack Shack, which is located near LASHP’s main entrance. Cargo serves burgers, sandwiches, smoothies, cocktails, and more. For hours and more information, please visit their website.
Does LA State Historic Park participate in any of the California State Park parking programs?
No, at this time LA State Historic Park doesn’t accept neither the California Explorer Annual Pass nor the Historian Passport Pass. Please visit their respective websites for more information on which parks accept these passes.
I’m interested in hosting a special event in the park. Who do I contact for more information?
If you are an organization interested in hosting a special event at the park, please contact the Special Events and Film Permit Coordinator at LASpecialevents@parks.ca.gov for information on requirements and fees.
I am attending an event / concert at the park — who do I contact for more information?
Please visit our events calendar to view event details, including information on how to contact the event host. If you’re attending a concert at LA State Historic Park and have questions about what you are allowed to bring, please contact the event host.
Is biking allowed at the park?
Yes, biking is allowed at the park in designated biking areas. Please be cautious of pedestrians and other visitors.
Is there a lost and found at the park?
There is no lost and found at LASHP.
Is filming or photography allowed at the park?
If you are filming or taking photos for personal or family use, you are allowed to do so. You must apply for a permit for any professional, paid filming or photography by contacting the Special Event and Film Permit Coordinator at LASpecialevents@parks.ca.gov.
Are drones allowed at the park?
No drones are allowed at LASHP.
Are there grills or barbecues at the park?
No, there are no grills or barbecues at LASHP due to high fire risk.
